Volunteer the Davenport House

Davenport House volunteers are essential to the daily operation of the site.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Docent

Volunteers complete a 4-week training course (one day a week for 2.5 hours) to prepare to conduct tours of the Davenport House Museum. Prior experience or knowledge is not required, but an enthusiasm for history is welcomed. Training involves instruction of the sites history, logistics of giving tours, shadowing four established docents’ tours, and giving an evaluation tour to a staff member before giving tours to the public. Museum Shop

Volunteers assist in taking admissons, operating the museum store, answering the phone and greeting visitors. 

Special Events

Volunteers assist in greeting, baking, serving, setting up, and cleaning up for numerous events and tours. Programs and events are held throughout the year.
